I also get the error “Create table ‘agps’ failed!
ERROR 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘)’ at line 1
CREATE TABLE `agps` ()” when trying to migrate microsoft access to Mysql on an Ubuntu 10.4 pc.
I did not write any SQL so it must be some canned SQL script generated by ESF database migration tools kit. which is causing the error.
I think that the user has all the necessary permissions, but it is almost impossible to tell with mysql.
Could it be that the version of mysql running under Ubuntu has a different language to that assumed by ESF?
I am running ESF on a windows pc accessing the access database on the linux pc on a LAN as there is no linux version as far as I know.

I think you can do that using LIMIT for splitter_cur cursor.

Eg. process 10000 records as:

DECLARE splitter_cur CURSOR FOR
SELECT id,cat from tmp limit 10000;

I’d use replace / ignore while loading data!

load data infile ‘FILEPATH/FILENAME’ IGNORE into tablename…

Make sure you have key column defined for the stuff to work.

Hey aijaz,

I assume if you use simple load command, it will insert the data ignoring the extra column. You should get warning! This is the case when you want to ignore last (4th) column.

Now there is very tricky but easy solution for inserting last 3 values and ignoring 1st column
What you’ll do here is specify columns:
load data infile ........ fields terminated by 'STRING' ... (col1,col1,col2,col3);

I had a csv file containing 4 columns,
and my table has 3 columns.

“At present you can send unlimited messages to any other JaxtrSMS user using the JaxtrSMS application. To a non JaxtrSMS user, you can send a maximum of 100 SMS per day.”

I’d like to know your exact scenario!
Meanwhile make sure you’re not copying procedure from page but downloading it from the link.
Once procedure get loaded into db, you may uncomment some of the lines to debug through!

Thanks a lot for the procedure, extremely useful. I have a little problem and I would like to ask you for help: when I run it on one of my table I get this error ” Error Code: 1064

And I am really not able to figure out what could it be due to. I get some result in the table “my_splits” (removed the tempoary). I also tried to set both `splitted_column` and ‘id’ to “default NULL”, but I continue to get that error. Any idea? Thank you very much.

First great appreciation for your nice work.

I am having CSV file which holding column like

col-1:”TC1″,col-2:”TC2″,col-3:”id1,id2″col-4:”TC4″

Note that col-3 has 2 values, i have to add each rows into table and repeat the other column values for col-3 each value

Isn’t any possible to do this?.

sh mysqldumpsplitter.sh SQL-FILE LAST-TABLE-NAME

and it worked fine for me.

when i want to extract table which locate in the last of dump file.I get error like this:
