Extreme Movie Review-Yeh Saali Zindagi (2011)

Yeh Saali Zindagi…

Hmm… So how do you feel if I start my review from the time when the director decided to make ‘Yeh Saali Zindagi’!! That’s what happened with me; it takes too long to start the “actual”: Yeh Saali Zindagi & till that time I had lost my interest.

The movie is a story of Arun (Irfan Khan) and his one sided love for Priti (Chitrangda Singh). Arun is a partner in financial firm who first saw Priti, a club singer, during his “work” and instantly fell for her.
He helped her in escaping some financial problems initially…and as usual tried to “get closer”. In the mean time he found her “busy” with the future son-in-law of some minister; but still you know: Love Is Blind, Deaf and Dumb… and more…

The story further includes a linked-story of Kuldeep (Arunoday Singh), a local gangster and his annoyed wife Shanti (Aditi Rao Hydari). Shanti wanted Kuldeep to stay away from his such gangsta-work or from her. With help of a police-man, Kuldeep decided to “do-it” one last time and leave the violence forever.

Kuldeep & gang had plans to kidnap minister’s daughter & son-in-law but endedup kidnapping Shanti & minister’s son-in-law.
The screen displays “The Night… It all went wrong”; when they kidnap them the movie actually starts (walking). Then the story goes on and on all about how Arun kept on helping Priti until the end and how Kuldeep gets through the business.
As per the natural “predictability” of Hindi movies, you can guess, it almost all went correct.
Except Arun takes a gun-shot by “diverted” bullet but survives in the end…

I’m not sure why people liked it but I cannot tolerate complete one hour of timepass before the actual movie starts. There is nothing in the movie which is worth. The movie is full of abusive language as the script demands and unpredictably favourable ends of problems.

A few quotes (unimpressive) from ‘Yeh Saali Zindagi’:
“Zindagi pe mera koi zor nahi ye to mereko samaz me aa gaya tha par kuldeep ko nahi”
“Ishq ka ek problem hai, agar ek ki lagi to dusre ki to lagni hi hai”

You’re good if you haven’t seen this; and you will get nothing by watching ‘Yeh Saali Zindagi’
