Basti hai mastaano ki…Gali hai deewano ki…Every city has its own identity….its own charm…n thats formed by people living thr..their dreams..their energy..their zest for life..
Watching the movie was a real good experience…it was like knowing the city…interwined with various emotions tht flow through people’s heart. With the backdrop of a family..where a grandson(Roshan:AB)comes to Delhi with his Grandma (Waheeda ji) to fulfill her wish of spending her last days on her own soil…the movie depicts the meance of kala-bandar…coupled with the parallel running love-story of Roshan n Bittu (Sonam..looking lovely in salwaar kameez and bangles.-the attire rocks neday)..where Bittu is also chasing her dream of being next Indian Idol..(Bhor Bhayee by Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali and Shreya was nice in audition..)The first half captures the city in a wonderful way…and the Ram-Leela running parallel is gr8ly related to the story..where in one of the incidents..the character called Jalebi (Divya Dutta) is nt allowed to visit the Pooja (Tumre Bhavan Me was wonderful) as she is from the so called lower caste and then the Ram-Leela depicting about Lord Ram and Shabri which clearly showed how we create differences tht demean humanity…Also the role of Gobar was convincingly played by Atul Kulkarni..In fact everybody played their part extremely well..
The menace of Kala Bandar continues..and so does Roshan’s journey exploring the city and its people where certain incidents shock him..n some touch his heart..and discovering tht he is in Love with Bittu and so was Bittu and deicdes nt to go back..the song Dil Gira Dafatan reminded me of Ye jo Des Hai tera not musically bt the way it was picturised..n needless to say it was beautiful…the Kala Bandar haunting people around..the issue is politicised leading to outbreak of communal riots and once where people lived together are even ready to kill each other..
True that some negative thing makes people forget wat happiness was in being together…well the climax was as good as the entire movie..One of the most interesting things was the man carrying mirror..and asking people to look within..coz there is God within us if we look and there is menace in everyone(kala bandar) if we are willing to accept and let it out of ourself..
Apt words on the movie wud be…”Every crisis benefits in a certain way”..its upto us whether we look at it that way or just crib about it…The world is beautiful and tht formed by people..we jst need to look into the mirror..and discover ourself..each time..every emotion may nt have been described here for sure..bt this is wat i felt about the film..and the film wud be incomplete without its gr8 muzic so heres sumthing on muzic..
As for the muzic..Masakalli makes u do that famous step netime u listen to it..Arziyan is soothing..so is Tumre Bhavan me..and Genda phool was different and rocking…. in fact all of them…
